MPA wins National Safety and Health Award for 4th time

MIRI: The Miri Port Authority (MPA) recently won the National Safety and Health Award for Public Service & Local Authorities Category for the fourth time in 12 years. MPA also won another accolade when its general manager Serawa Budol won the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Award in the public sector category.The award presentation was held at Palace of the Golden Horses, Seri Kembangan in Kuala Lumpur and the awards were presented by Ministry of Human Resource Malaysia Secretary General Dato Amir Omar.

The awards were given to organisations and individuals for their commitment in implementing safety and health related activities and initiatives, and for complying with relevant laws, regulations, policies and standards in ensuring a safe and healthy workplace. A MPA statement said yesterday the awards are proof the ports sustainability and adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) System. “It is indeed a manifestation of commitment of the management and staff  to organisational excellence in providing a safe and healthy workplace thus creating value for many services to all its customers and stakeholders. “It was also the result of the fully integrated major management systems, namely; Quality, Occupational Safety & Health and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015) implementation at MPA.
